Homework Notice

Homework will be given on a regular basis for reading, spelling and math. The homework will be an extension of what we work on in the classroom. If a student is unable to complete his/her homework assignments, those assignments will be sent home on Fridays to be completed over the weekend.

Homework is an important part of your childís education. Completing homework not only reinforces the skills they are learning in class but also it teaches them life long skills such as organization, time management, and responsibility.

Students will write their homework assignments in a homework notebook each day, this notebook should be taken home each night. This notebook will also be used as a parent-teacher communication journal. Please be sure to use this notebook to check your childís homework assignments or any notes from me each night.

Here is an overview of the homework that will be assigned over the course of the school year.

Reading Homework: Students are expected to spend 20 minutes each night reading. A reading log will be sent home so that students can record their reading each night.

Math Homework: Math homework will be in the form of Math Home Links. Homework will be assigned every night of the week.

Spelling Homework: Each week our class will be working on various activities using 10-15 words.  The words will be introduced on Mondays and words homework will be assigned for each night of the week. We will conclude our word study with a spelling quiz on Fridays!
